This image shows the components of Drip Irrigation system.
Drip Irrigation system is sometimes called as trickle irrigation. It involves dripping the water at low rates in to the soil. Water is dropped directly on the soil close to the plants so that only the roots get wet. This increases the level of moisture in the soil and becomes a favourable condition for the plants to grow. This system have mainlines, sub-mains and lateral lines with emission points spaced along their lengths and through drippers water is delivered to the crops.
